CUSTOM CARVED LIZARD ON IRONSTONE BOULDER WITH GEM WHITE OPAL

Description

The Bolder Opel is custom free-form carved in the relief of a lizard at rest atop of a boulder with a front free-form cut and polished gem opal
displaying multiple color flashes against a grey to white body tone, with a backing of brown ironstone matrix.
The custom carving is held above a high polished, rectangular, black Nephrite base, by a single octagonal steel shaft inserted into both pieces.
The black Nephrite base is signed "RL" on the underside.
The base measures: 39.29 mm x 30.03 mm x 21.20 mm
The  boulder opal carving measures: 48.76 mm x 36.80 mm x 31.76 mm.
The total measurements are Height: 65.55 mm, Width: 43.50 mm, Depth: 33.38 mm.
One boulder white opal that is cut in a free-form shape and is inset, measuring 48.76 mm long x 36.80 mm wide, and 31.76 mm thick
and the approximate weight of the gem quality opal section is 8.00 carats. The gem opal section has a somewhat bright, red multcolor
(fire) in a flash-fire pattern; a fair cut;  the opal is 60% of face; with moderate dull spots in it's brightness and pattern; and is somewhat
directional.
